An animal rescue organization in Selma, California, bid farewell to one of its long-term resident dogs by treating it to a day filled with steak and ice cream as well as a trip to the beach on April 29.
Pinky Paws Search & ResQ gave Chico the dog the treat-filled day to remember after they were told he had to be put down “immediately” due to intestinal cancer.
Chico came to the charity in 2010 after his previous owner, who had Alzheimer’s, lost their house. After spending the past eight years between the charity and weekend trips to Petsmart, he joined a foster family in September 2017.
The organization shared a number of photos of videos of Chico’s final day out with the charity. Pinky Paws Search & ResQ planned to put Chico down on April 30. Credit: Pinky Paws Search & ResQ via Storyful
