Depending upon their level, tumor markers maybe divided into S1, S2 or S3.

It is called S1 when LDH is less than 1.5 times the upper limit of normal, beta HCG is less than 5000 and AFP is less than 1000.

It is S2 if LDH is between 1.5 to 10 times the upper limit of normal, beta HCG is between 5000 to 50000 or AFP is between 1000 to 10000.

And S3 if LDH is more than 10 times the upper limit of normal, beta HCG is more than 50000 or AFP is more than 10000.
