பல்லாவரம் அருகே நள்ளிரவில் டாஸ்மாக் கடையினுள் புகுந்து ஊழியர்களை வெளியேற்றியதுடன், கடையையும் அடித்து நொறுக்கிய பெண்களால் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது. பல்லாவரம் அடுத்த திருநீர்மலை, புலி கொரடு சாலையில் டாஸ்மாக் மதுக்கடையை திறக்கும் பணி நடைபெற்று வந்தன. இதற்கு அப்பகுதி மக்கள் நீண்டகாலமாகவே எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்து வந்ததாக கூறப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் அதிகாரிகள் மக்களின் கோரிக்கைக்கு செவிசாய்க்காமல் மதுக்கடையை திறந்துவிட்டனர்.
