Pakistani singer and actor, Ali Zafar has been accused of sexually harassing Meesha Shafi. Shafi, who herself is a prominent singer and has always been vocal on the various issues took to Twitter to reveal that Zafar sexually harassed her. With this tweet, many Pakistani women have come forward and accused Zafar of inappropriate behaviour. This has led to #MeToo movement in Pakistan. While there are some publications and people who are not ready to accept Shafi’s claim and has called this as a publicity stunt, others have taken to social media to lend their support to the established singer. Ali Zafar has acted in a lot of Bollywood movies. He was last scene in the Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan starer Dear Zindagi. Meesha Shafi has too acted in Bollywood in the blockbuster, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag alongside Farhan Akhtar. Will this #MeToo movement make a difference in Pakistan?
