Many ATMs around the country, not only in the rural interiors but also Suburban townships of large metros, have been facing severe cash crunch for more than ten days now, particularly larger denomination notes. Long queues and ‘no cash’ signboards have became common in many parts as depositors are queued up to withdraw as much cash as possible in what is proving to create a mini panic. The RBI has clarified that the situation has risen due to logistical issues and there is no cash crunch in the country.
