Conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones Sued by Sandy Hook Parents The right-wing conspiracy theorist and host of ‘Infowars’ was hit with two lawsuits for defamation on Tuesday. Three parents filed the lawsuit at the Travis County District Court in Austin, Texas after years of Jones questioning the validity behind the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting. A New York Times report cites Jones referring to the shooting, in which 20 children and six adults were killed, as a “giant hoax” and “completely fake.” One of Jones’s theories is that survivors and their families are “crisis actors” used in an elaborate scheme to help tighten gun control laws. The parents are reportedly seeking $1 million in damages.
