James Comey took an apparent jab at President Trump on Sunday.
Hours after President Donald Trump slammed James Comey on Twitter, the former FBI Director appeared to suggest that Trump "serves as a counterpoint" to ethical leadership.
"My book is about ethical leadership & draws on stories from my life & lessons I learned from others. 3 presidents are in my book: 2 help illustrate the values at the heart of ethical leadership; 1 serves as a counterpoint. I hope folks read the whole thing and find it useful," Comey tweeted Sunday.
While Comey's book is scheduled to be released on April 17, leaked transcripts reveal that he describes Trump as "untethered to truth" and compares him to a mafia boss.
The president has responded to those remarks by posting a series of tweets over the past few days.
"The big questions in Comey's badly reviewed book aren't answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn't they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe's $700,000 & more?" Trump tweeted Sunday morning.
"James Comey is a proven LEAKER & LIAR. Virtually everyone in Washington thought he should be fired for the terrible job he did-until he was, in fact, fired. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted. He lied to Congress under OATH," Trump wrote on Friday. "He is a weak and untruthful slime ball who was, as time has proven, a terrible Director of the FBI."
Comey was abruptly fired by Trump in May of last year.
