In 2007, The LEGO Group discontinued its 9v trains, and along with it, the 9v track. The new track no longer has the metal strips needed to carry the electric current to power the 9v motor, rendering them useless with the new track. In this video, I convert a LEGO RC train track into a 9V train track. This is done with Copper Foil Tape. It is a simple process and allows for use of your 9v powered LEGO trains to run on the newer track. This is a much cheaper alternative to purchasing the discontinued track at a very high premium.
