Indian weightlifters and shooters increased India’s medals tally to 11 in the commonwealth games which is underway at gold coast. The day started with 2 golds coming in from Punam Yadav and Manu Bhaker. Heena Sidhu too clinched a silver in the same event of 10 metre air pistol following which, shooter Ravi Kumar and wrestler Vikram Thakur added a bronze each to the medal basket. India's splendid performance in common wealth games has once again put the spotlight on sports beyond cricket.

Although, various initiatives including Khelo India are pushing for all kind of sporting events in our nations, we continue to remain a cricketing nation. If other sports are delivering results in such great manner, isn't it time they get their due?
