A new book about the workings of the current White House describes Melania Trump as the one who "rules the roost." Ronald Kessler, the author of 'The Trump White House: Changing the Rules of the Game,' notes how influential the first lady has been in a variety of matters, from her husband's decision to run for office to matters of policy. Kessler told CNN on Sunday, "…she will sit in, in meetings with cabinet officers and she will disagree with Trump, her judgment is spectacular." In the book, set to be released on Tuesday, former White House press secretary Sean Spicer reportedly echoes that sentiment. "I don't think people fully recognise how influential she is and what a grounded political sense she has on her own," Spicer said in an interview with Kessler. "When she weighs in, it's always spot on."
Among the matters she hasn't publicly weighed in on is her husband's alleged affair with former adult film star Stormy Daniels.
In a recent '60 Minutes' interview, Daniels shared details about her 2006 encounter with Donald Trump and the $130,000 she reportedly received from his attorney, Michael Cohen, just prior to the 2016 election.
