According to a report by Science, scientists are on the verge of a carbon-dioxide recycling revolution aimed at capturing CO2 from power plants, and maybe even directly from the atmosphere, and converting it into fuels like butane. By adding electricity, water, and a variety of catalysts, scientists have discovered a way to reduce CO2 into short molecules such as carbon monoxide and methane, which can then be used to form more complex hydrocarbon fuels like butane.
