The 3rd video in a newfrom following an untried apprentice as he, with master Luthier Ben Crowes supervision, turns an £80 kit telecaster into something worthy of the cover of the worlds biggest guitar magazine - Premier Guitar.\r

In thisapprentice Howard removes the horrible plastic nut and then he uses the Crimson Guitar luthiery tools to level the frets. The angle of the fret ends was too extreme and this reduced the playing surface of the guitar. Removing material lowered the frets and made the playing surface larger while keeping the fretboard radius accurate. He uses the Crimson fret rocker,notched straight edge,fret levelling file and crowning files in this video.
