With the nation blanketed with the worst toxic smog so far this year,... South Korea's Environment Ministry has decided to implement emergency measures for the second straight day.
With emergency advisories sent to everyone's smartphones on Monday,... the ministry has called on local governments to take emergency procedures to reduce the level of fine dust on Tuesday.
Measures including reducing hours of operation for public facilities, running "air cleaning trucks" during the day,... and instituting an alternate driving day system for public sector workers in the Seoul area.
Experts say Korea could be hit by high levels of fine dust repeatedly until June, when temperatures rise and the air mass becomes more unstable.
