That's not an Instagram filter, that's orange snow! The orange-tinted snow covered parts of Eastern Europe on Friday and over the weekend, creating eerie post-Apocalyptic scenes in countries like Russia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania and Moldova. There's a simple explanation: the rare phenomenon is caused by sand from Sahara desert storms mixing with snow and rain. It happens roughly once every five years but concentrations of sand are higher than usual this time.
