FIRST IMPRESSIONS:\r
Ive been using the XS for a few days now, so these impressions are a little more solid than usual.\r
\r
Firstly, I love the build of the XS. Its comp and convenient, with great fit and finish. However fabric cable is a little stiff and tends to have a fair bit of memory. Because you have to detach the cable and coil it up each time you store it in the case, the cable is a little bit of a nuisance that way.\r
\r
In terms of comfort, the V-Moda XS is quite comfortable, though because of light clamping force it doesnt quite feel as stable on the head as something like the Sennheiser Amperior or perhaps even something like the KEF M500. Its similar to the Bose SoundTrue in that it will stay on your head if you are sitting tight, but I wouldnt necessarily trust it to stay on your head when you are running to catch the train. On the flipside, the XS doesnt make your ears hurt after a few hours like the Amperior does.\r

In terms of sound, the XS is definitely one of the better on-ears Ive tried. It has a broad mid-band emphasis sort of like the UE6000, which means that mid-bass and lower mids tend to be accentuated in a way that sounds noticeably quite warm. Bass and sub-bass are not quite as thick. Upper vocals also have a kind of a brassy forward sound to them, while S notes are pulled back. \r

To be honest the overall signature is quite similar to how I remember the M80 - thick and warm and maybe slightly bloated. Its not necessarily my favourite signature compared to say the more punchy and aggressive sound of the Amperior, but the XS is definitely still a good sounding headphone without severe compromises to achieve its diminutive size.\r

Ive also had a chance to do some Skype calling with the BoomPro and my friend remarked at how much clearer it was than usual, so it appears to be doing what it says on the can! Will do some more recordings later :3\r
