TMC-VHP faceoff in Bengal; Ram Navami pandals taken down in Bengal, cops says permission not taken

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) are locked in a tussle over Ram Navami celebrations in Bengal. The VHP says armed processions will be carried out irrespective of whether permission is given or not. Various BJP leaders are expected to participate in the processions as well. Pandals were taken down in Bengal on the eve of the festival of Ram Navami by the Kolkata police. It's said that the pandals were set up by the VHP but there was no prior permission taken from the police. This happened in Baguiati in Kolkata on Saturday. Meanwhile, in another incident, the Ram Navami stage was set on fire in Bardhaman in Bengal. The celebrations were planned by the VHP in Bardhaman.
