MTV, Nickelodeon and BET Go Off Air to Support Student Walkout on Guns The trio of networks threw their support behind students across the country Wednesday at the exact same time they marched. Viacom, the parent company of the three networks, suspended programming for 17 minutes, in honor of the 17 lives lost following the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
