The National Weather Service declared the nor’easter that hit Boston on Tuesday, March 13, a blizzard. Up to two feet of snow was expected in parts of Massachusetts, including up to 18 inches in the city.
The weather service said blizzard conditions were measured at an automated weather station at Logan International Airport for more than three hours. Other areas, including on Cape Cod, were also declared a blizzard by the weather service.
It was the third nor’easter to hit the region in less than two weeks.
