Russia Says It Successfully Tested New Hypersonic Missile Russia launched the Kinzhal missile on Sunday which President Vladimir Putin called an "ideal weapon." The missile was launched from a MiG-31 supersonic interceptor jet in the Russia's South Military District. The launch went according to plan, the hypersonic missile hit its target.
