Snow began to fall across London on Monday, February 26, as the UK braced itself for a deep freeze, courtesy of a cold front many have dubbed the “beast from the east”.

“Snow showers in the east will become heavier and gradually spread into central parts during the day, with accumulations likely,” said the Met Office.
