On Friday, at least half a dozen U.S. companies abruptly cut ties with the National Rifle Association in wake of last week’s Florida high school mass shooting which left 17 dead. Companies that have left the NRA include tech corporation Symantec, Boston-based home security company SimpliSafe, rental car company Hertz and insurers Metlife and Chubb. A day before, the First National Bank of Omaha said it would not renew a contract with the gun organization to issue an NRA-branded Visa card.
