The Toronto Transit Commission said it would conduct an investigation as a video posted online appeared to show several transit officers and police officers pin down a black teenager.
The uploader of the video is quoted in reports saying that two officers removed the teenager from the streetcar and pinned him to the ground before putting him in handcuffs. She said the teenager was held for 20 minutes before being put in a police car.
Reports said the boy was immediately released.
A spokesperson for TTC is quoted as saying the video caused great concern and that an investigation has started.
In one of the videos the man being held down can be heard saying “I didn’t do anything” and “you’re hurting me”.
