Speaking with Entertainment Tonight following the ceremony, Witherspoon, 41, explained in disbelief, 'I'm overwhelmed. I've cried 16 times.'
Big Little Lies co-stars Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgard won individual awards for best actress, best supporting actress and best actor while the series also won a Golden Globe.
