South Africa's parliament has chosen Cyril Ramaphosa to be president after Jacob Zuma, tarred by scandal, was forced from office. An anti-apartheid activist who became a wealthy businessman, Ramaphosa was seen by many as a natural heir to Nelson Mandela back in 1999 when he missed out on succeeding him in the presidency.
