Some politicians broke out into song following the election of South Africa’s new president, Cyril Ramaphosa, at parliament in Cape Town on February 15.

Ramaphosa was elected following Jacob Zuma’s resignation on Wednesday, February 14, following corruption charges which he has denied.

In his first speech as president Ramaphosa said he wanted to improve the lives of South Africans, bringing them to a higher level.

He was later sworn in at the Presidency precinct in Tuynhuys, Cape Town.
