Higher than norms but cloudy and dusty at times

Good afternoon, most of the nation will enjoy mild temperatures this afternoon, Seoul and Daejeon will get up to 6 and 7 degrees with more clouds moving in along with high levels of fine dust at times.

But dry weather will remain across much of the country, including here in Seoul, and dust levels could spike in the afternoon.

The milder than average readings will be short-lived, we'll see readings plunging again on Sunday and Monday but readings will become bearable throughout Lunar New Year holiday that's coming up in less than a week, but still we will have cooler than average temperatures.
The cold will ease in PyeongChang as well but the Olympic Stadium, where opening ceremony will take a place tonight at 8PM Korea time, will have readings between minus 2 to minus 5 degrees with strong winds, so dress accordingly if you plan to attend the ceremony.

With that, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.

While a milder weather pattern is on the way for much of the peninsula with cloudier skies than Thursday, much of North Korea will also notice much higher readings this afternoon.

As for the rest of Asia, those of you in Beijing will see strong winds in the afternoon and expect to see more clouds moving in.

Meanwhile, Perth had its hottest summer in 25 years and there’s nothing but hot weather on the horizon for at least the next week.

Heading to North America, mostly cloudy skies will give warmer temperatures in Washington DC on Friday, while breezes are very light from the south.

As for South America, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro will be scorching under sunny skies.

Taking you to Europe,..Paris ground to a halt as the French capital was transformed into a winter wonderland with more snow expected to fall on Friday.

Lastly to Africa, Algiers will only have a single digit afternoon high at 9 degrees along with rainfall.
