Gurbani (Punjabi: ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ) is a Sikh term, very commonly used by Sikhs to refer to various compositions by the Sikh Gurus and other writers of Guru Granth Sahib. In general, hymns in the central text of the Sikhs, the Guru Granth Sahib, are called Gurbani. It is also called Gun Bani.

Gurmat Can Only Be Begotten Through Shabad Vichaar

The Gurbani teaches that Gurmat is born, gained, or begotten through the Shabad-Vichaar. In other words, the eyes of Vichaar are needed to see the true Beauty and Nature (Saroop) of the Gurbani (Sri Guru Granth Sahib-SGGS)! In nutshell:

Gurmat = Teaching of the Gurbani, Brahm-Giaan or Divine Wisdom of the Gur-Shabad, Divine Wisdom of the Gurbani, Spiritual Knowledge of the Shabad-Guroo…
Shabad-Vichaar = Reflections (contemplation, discernment…) on the Gurbani or Gur-Shabad, Spiritual Inquiry into the Gur-Shabad
