The U.S. under President Trump is raising the pressure on Korea with more import restrictions.
The Korea International Trade Association, or KITA, says that as of Monday the U.S. had 40 import restrictions affecting Korea.
Thirty of those were anti-dumping measures, eight were countervailing duties and two were safeguards.
Under President Obama two years ago, the U.S. had just 16 such measures, less than half as many.
Korean steel and metal products are being affected the most by far, followed by electric products and electronics.
KITA says it expects still more protectionist moves out of Washington this year.
After the U.S., India had the second most import restrictions on Korean goods with 29,... followed by China and Turkey with 14 each.
