A gas explosion ignited a fire at an oil refinery operated by the state-run CPC Corp in Taoyuan, Taiwan, early on January 29, though no injuries were reported, according to local media.
Large flames and smoke were seen over the city after the fire was reported at around 6.42 am; it was reported to have been brought under control by 7.30 am.
Xinhua said local residents reported hearing multiple explosions. The initial investigation indicated that the explosion, or explosions, was caused by a pipe rupture at the refinery, the outlet said. Credit: 哥哥 via Storyful
