A model was removed from a New York-bound American Airlines plane after a disagreement with airline staff on Saturday night, January 27.

Jen Selter was ordered off the flight at Miami International Airport after a row with a flight attendant, according to Fox News. The argument erupted after Selter stood up from her seat to put her coat in the overhead locker, and was subsequently told to sit down by a flight attendant, the news channel reported.

In several videos shared on Twitter, Selter can be heard arguing with American Airlines staff, insisting she should not have been made to sit down, given there were other passengers also out of their seats.

In the first video, a pilot approaches her and states, “the crew is asking you to be removed” to which she responds, “I didn’t do anything wrong.” A female flight attendant can then be heard insisting Selter had stated she wanted to leave the plane. Selter says, “I was obviously being sarcastic, ma’am.”

In her second video, Selter films airline staff gathering outside the plane, inside the passenger boarding bridge, after she was made to leave the aircraft. She captioned the video: “I did nothing wrong but got kicked off the plane.”

The final video shows a passenger Selter said left the aircraft voluntarily in protest against the airline’s actions in removing Selter from the plane.

In a statement to Page Six, a spokesman for American Airlines confirmed Selter had been asked to leave the aircraft. “Ms Selter was asked to leave the aircraft after a disagreement occurred last night at Miami International Airport (MIA). American offered her hotel accommodations and transportation, which she declined," the spokesman said.

“It was humiliating. They made me feel like a terrible person, and I did nothing wrong,” Selter told the New York Post. Credit: Jen Selter via Storyful
