Although we have made many videos on aliens, there are some very strange creatures right here on Earth. Perhaps the strangest of these creatures exist in the ocean. The ocean is the true final frontier of Earth. We as humans have explored just five percent of the worlds oceans. Imagine what creatures lurk in the greatest depths of the ocean. Today on ApexTV, we take a look at the top 20 mysterious deep sea creatures that have been caught on camera. From squids possessing right angled arms to sea creatures that look like living fossils, there have been some very mysterious deep sea creatures caught on camera. Remember, these are just the animals we have found, imagine what creatures still remain anonymous in the worlds oceans. Number 20. This is the Glowing Sucker Octopus. These strange creatures are found at depths up to 2500 meters. Because of the immense pressure at these depths, they only grow up to about 50 cm. This type of octopus has a bizarre way of moving about through the ocean. Their main form of locomotion is by rhythmically contring their mantle. The glowing sucker octopus has only yet been observed in the Atlantic Ocean. Number 19. The next creature we take a look at is the cockatoo squid. The only part of this squids body that isnt transparent is its eyes. When resting, the Cockatoo Squid holds its tentacles above its head, making it look like a bird. Number 18. Here is the Giant Bell Jellyfish. It is just 10 cm in height and is found at depths of 400 meters. Number 17. Now we take a look at the Pacific Viperfish. It is thought that there is little food available deep in the ocean. Because of this limited supply of food, the Pacific Viperfish has developed long and pointy fangs that give prey little chance to escape. They are usually found 200-4000m deep. Number 16. Found at depths of up to 4000m deep is the Black-devil anglerfish. These scary-looking fish are really about as large as a grapefruit. Their bodies are round, because it helps them accommodate to their stationary lifestyle. Number 15. This next deep sea creature looks like a ghost. Because of this, it is called the spookfish. The spookfish has such large eyes, because they allow the fish to take in the little amount of sunlight there is. Number 14. This is a frilled shark. This odd-looking shark has been called by many a living fossil. The shark itself is very rarely seen. Their habitat is the depths of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Number 13. The blobfish was found in the deep waters off of Australia and New Zealand. They have neither bones or teeth, so they are incapable of biting. Their bizarre, squishy body is due to the immense pressures of where they live. They dont turn into a blob until theyre brought to the surface. Number 12. This strange creature walks on the bottom of the cold and dark waters of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is known as the Giant Isopod. Among the thousands of species of Isopods, the Giant Isopod is the largest. They generally grow up to 40cm long. Number 11. This is an Armored Sea Robin.
