ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday filed a supplementary reference against the Sharif family in a case pertaining to the Avenfield flats, ARY News reported.
The supplementary reference has been filed in the wake of a NAB team’s recent visit to the United Kingdom to gather evidence against the ruling family.
The reference is said to be based on the statements of seven new witnesses, including two British nationals.
In December, the NAB team visited the British capital London to meet the Home Office officials in connection with the Avenfield flats owned by the sons of former premier Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier, the NAB had filed three references against the Sharif family. Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar were nominated in a single corruption reference in connection with the London properties.
