Day four of our DIY kitchen remodel starts with me working on some electrical projects. My first priority is to finish up running electric lines to two new recessed LED lights in the soffit box. Next I move on to blocking out the framing hardware and ducting for the island range hood that will be installed in the soffit box. After finishing up some projects in the soffit box, I move on to adding some additional electric lines and GFCI boxes for the kitchen counter and peninsula area. Once Im finished up with the early day priorities, we clean up and start preparations for setting new floor tile in the kitchen. We go through the entire layout process including marking the floor with red chalk lines to guide the entire tile laying. After we finish up the layout stage, Neil continues on to make several dozen cuts on his tile saw for all the diagonal cuts around the edges. At the end of the evening the first half of the kitchen floor is set with thin set and tiled in a diagonal pattern.\r
