Nirmala Sitharaman became the first full-time Defence Minister to fly a Sukhoi 30 MKI of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The Defence Minister undertook a sortie in the Indian Air Force frontline combat jet Sukhoi 30 MKI from the air base in Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Speaking to mediapersons, the Defence Minister appreciated the Indian Air Force for their hard work and dedication and shared her experience. She is the 2nd female to hold the position of Defence Minister, before her former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was the only women to hold this portfolio. Watch video to know more.
