A great white shark got up close and personal with divers off Mexico’s Guadalupe Island in September 2017, buffeting the divers’ cages before disappearing into the depths.

In this video, the shark can be seen approaching the cages at speed, banging into the side almost head-on before turning away. The shark can be seen with a rope in it’s mouth, apparently attracted by bait used to get the fish to come close. Credit: Carolina Ortega via Storyful
