Pakistan scored 282 for 8 wickets in their 40 overs and in reply to that India chased the target comfortably in 34.5 overs. For India Deepak Malik was the top scorer with an unbeaten 79 runs. India's first match vs Australia had been washed out while they crushed Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the next game. Pakistan on the other hand defeated Bangladesh and Nepal in their first two matches.
