Emergency responders in North Port, Florida, had to fight off a swarm of bees as they tried to assist a crash victim on Tuesday, January 9.
Rescue workers braved thousands of angry insects after an SUV drove through several beehive boxes off Interstate 75.
According to a post on the North Port Police Department’s Facebook page, the SUV left the roadway, became airborne and struck a number of beehive boxes before hitting a tree. The Charlotte County and North Port Fire Departments cleared the area of bees using a high-pressure foam spray.
