Judge Blocks Trump Administration Plan
to Roll Back The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program San Francisco's Judge William Alsup ruled DACA must stay in place while litigation is played out. The Obama-era program grants permission to stay and work to about 800,000 immigrants, also known as Dreamers, who were brought illegally to the United States as children. The district judge ordered the government to process renewal applications from Dreamers who had previously been covered, but people who have never received DACA protections will not be allowed to apply.
