A heavy morning downpour brought flash floods to several parts of eastern Singapore on January 8.

Authorities reported multiple traffic accidents along the area’s main expressways. Residents told local paper Straits Times that water reached ankle-high levels, with one delivery driver saying he had never seen such severe flooding before.

The country’s Public Utilities Board issued a flash flood warning for areas around Bedok Road and Upper Changi Road, according to Channel News Asia. Rainy weather was expected to continue for the next week. Credit: Facebook/Jeffrey Chung via Storyful
