A snowstorm brought transport chaos to Spain’s Castile and Leon region late on Saturday, December 6, and into Sunday, with some drivers taking to social media to complain they had been trapped on the road for up to six hours.

El Pais reported that the Military Emergencies Unit had been deployed to help clear the A6 and AP-6 highway, which runs from Madrid to Spain’s northwestern region of Galicia. Spain’s meteorology agency AEMET recorded close to six inches of snow on Saturday in Segovia, around 50 miles northwest of Madrid.
