On Friday, Spain's Supreme Court ordered that Catalan separatist leader Oriol Junqueras stay in custody after already serving over two months in prison for his part in the Spanish region's push for independence. Judges released a written ruling claiming that there existed a risk that Junqueras would again commit an offence as there was no evidence to show that he had abandoned "the path followed so far." He remains in custody on allegations of rebellion, sedition, and misuse of public funds.
