President Trump slammed Michael Wolff's new book in a tweet on Thursday.
President Trump on Thursday lashed out at Michael Wolff's new book, 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,' and described former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon as "Sloppy Steve."
"I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don't exist," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Look at this guy's past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!"
The book, which includes interviews with Bannon and former deputy chief of staff Katie Walsh, makes many unflattering claims about Trump and others close to him.
Echoing Trump's remarks, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders characterized the book as "complete fantasy and just full of tabloid gossip," during Thursday's press briefing.
Sanders went on to say, "I don't think [Americans] really care about some trash that an author that no one had ever heard of until today, or a fired employee wants to peddle."
