A powerful nor’easter hit Massachusetts and part of the the northeast with blizzard conditions and coastal flooding on Thursday, January 4.

Hurricane-force winds with gusts up to 70 mph were possible in Massachusetts, the National Weather Service said. Snowfall totalling up to 17 inches was reported in the state.
