HBO Confirms Game of Thrones Return Date HBO has confirmed that the blockbuster show will land on TV screens in 2019. It'll be the first time that the series skipped an entire calendar year since it debuted in 2011. The final season will feature just six episodes, with episodes directed by creators David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, along with David Nutter
and Miguel Sapochnik. Sapochnik has directed four episodes, including Season 6’s Battle of the Bastards. Nutter has directed directed six episodes, including the Season 5 finale Mother’s Mercy, which featured Queen Cersei's shame walk.
