This is the moment a barge caught fire during a New Year's Eve fireworks display at Terrigal Beach, New South Wales.

In the video, filmed on New Year's Eve, a large explosion can be heard during the display and the barge can be seen catching alight.

In the confusion, onlookers continue to film the display as a number of fireworks into the air simultaneously.

According to local reports, two men operating the fireworks were injured and thousands were evacuated as fireworks erupted on to the beach.
