After the union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad tabled the Triple Talaq bill or Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill 2017 in the Lok Sabha, Muslim women across India celebrated the government's move. Muslim women distributed sweets among themselves in a bid to cherish the tabling of ‘Triple Talaq’ Bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Introducing the bill in the house, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said “This law is for women's rights and justice and not regarding any prayer, ritual or religion..It is a historic day. We are making history today”.
