Tuscon Police, on December 27, released dashcam footage from the car of a man who, on December 19, pretended to be a police officer and pulled over other drivers, handcuffing one.

The suspect, who had a blue and red flashing visor, pulled over at least three people and identified himself as an undercover police officer. The suspect asked those he pulled over if they had drugs on them and handcuff one of them.

The suspect told the handcuffed victim that he was unable to release the handcuffs, according to KVOA-TV, and directed the man to go to a nearby police station to get released.

The suspect was also reported to have a duty belt and “police-type” scanner.

Police arrested the suspect in Oro Valley the next day and said that they were charging him with kidnapping and impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Police asked the public to let them know if they think that they may have been a victim of a similar incident. Credit: Tucson Police Department via Storyful
