A snow emergency was declared in Erie, Pennsylvania, as of Wednesday, December 27, after more than 60 inches of snow fell in a span of about four days. One man jumped off his roof to land softly into the fresh snow.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, Erie received 2.6 inches of snow since midnight Wednesday, and 65.1 inches since Christmas Eve.

Go Erie reported that Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkempe on Wednesday lifted an emergency disaster declaration that had enabled the county to request services from the Pennsylvania National Guard.
