The Smithsonian’s National Zoo’s youngest Bornean orangutan had some fun with pine shavings in a video released on Tuesday, December 12. The tub of shavings was an enrichment activity for Redd, who is just over a year old.

The activity helps Redd improve his climbing and tumbling skills, which are important for apes that spend their lives in the trees, the zoo said. Redd was born in September 2016. Credit: Smithsonian’s National Zoo via Storyful
