Bitcoin Prices Continue to Skyrocket, Reach $15,000 On Thursday morning, Bitcoin marked another remarkable rise hitting $15,000 after starting at $12,000 on Wednesday. Bitcoin's price has now risen 1,500 percent since January 2017 when it started off at around $10. Bitcoin's pricing is also higher in other markets, with Korea trading it at around $19,000. Currently the world's most popular cryptocurrency, the market cap for Bitcoin sits at $252 billion, making up more than half of the market cap for all cryptocurrencies ($400 billion).
